The Comedy Zone unites young, wet-behind-the-ears, but precociously talented comedians and serves them up so you can say you saw them first. Oh – and we hope you like Bulmers Cider as much as we do, because you’ll be getting some of this to enjoy with your friends.

Enjoy performances from Melbourne comedian Khaled Khalafalla, an Egyptian journalism graduate with profound (and, okay, hilarious) insight into what it’s like to be mistaken for a variety of races; 2011 RAW finalist Laura Hughes, who slipped into comedy (presumably on a banana skin) while in the pursuit of an acting career; art school dropout and deadpan master of the absurd, Tom Gaynor, also a finalist in RAW last year; Dayne Rathbone (ACT) – a recovering computer games addict (read: nerd), whose cringingly awkward (read: brilliant) delivery won him the RAW Comedy comp last year; and Damien Power from Brisbane, who’s apparently unpredictable with a mic, so watch your head. He sold out a debut season at the Brisbane Comedy Festival.
